Human Touch is a Berlin-based fashion label known for its distinctive “paint-sewing” technique, which incorporates the fingerprints of garment workers into the clothing during production. Textile paint is transferred from the workers’ gloves onto the fabric as they sew, creating patterns that vary from one garment to another. Founded by designer and tailor Juliet Seger, the concept was developed as a way to make the human labor behind clothing production more visible. The technique has since become a defining part of Human Touch’s fashion collections, performances, and brand identity. The approach also gives the garments a form of physical provenance: the marks on the fabric are created during the actual manufacturing process rather than added afterward as a decorative print. Human Touch has used this idea across fashion, art, textile design, and live performance, turning garment production itself into a visual and creative practice. This is a look at the intersection of fashion, craftsmanship, textile manufacturing, branding, and creative marketing. Credits: thehumantouch_clothing
