Uniqlo Fall Guide

Follow me to cut through the hype 👀 Comment “links” to get my picks! Uniqlo’s plaid shirts align perfectly everywhere in the front, but the train falls off the track at the side seam. I checked a bunch of shirts in different colorways. The vast majority were more than ½” off. Their extra-fine merino measures 19.5 microns (smooth enough for base layers) and is machine washable: cold, gentle cycle, mesh bag, lay flat to dry. Skip the 70% acrylic “merino blend” and the souffle yarn sweater shelved right next to the gorgeous merino. The souffle is already matted on the rack. The merino/acrylic has a clammy handfeel. The display cashmere sweaters look fresh after months of being handled by customers, so that works for me. I look for cashmere that’s not fuzzy and is tightly knit (not a lot of gaps). All their jean washes look great – they use lasers to create the vintage look, and they get a natural effect much more reliably than most jeans under $150. The cuts are hit & miss. I include the one I love on ShopMy. The rag & bone Miramar sweatpant jeans are stellar! The Uniqlo version is more structured, so they’re addressing different needs. The rag & bone will feel more loungy, while the Uniqlo holds you in at the hips. The Uniqlo feels comfy enough to me for a long flight. Save this before your fall shopping list.
