US tariffs have sent shockwaves across the fashion supply chains. Brands moved quickly to change their sourcing strategies to reduce costs as much as possible, putting immense pressure on suppliers, which saw orders delayed, cancelled, or modified. According to the Business and Human Rights Centre, these costs have been passed directly onto workers, who faced layoffs and delayed payments, with some people pushed into destitution. For women and migrant workers, this means food insecurity, loss of access to life-saving medicine and heightened risks of trafficking and survival sex. We cover who bears the brunt of risks across the fashion supply chain in our latest episode, with Áine Clarke from the BHRC. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts. 👋 Hi!
