From there, I move into application: how to choose the correct underlining weight for a garment, how to interface with silk organza instead of fusible interfacing, and why I stopped using it entirely — and what changed in my sewing when I did. I also repair a vintage Diane von Furstenberg dress using silk organza, because this fabric is not only invaluable in new construction — it is also one of the most effective tools for restoring garments that deserve a second life. And finally, I take you inside the hidden structure of a Chanel-inspired French couture jacket, where silk organza performs some of its most extraordinary work: shaping, supporting, reinforcin
