I'm a dry cleaner and here are some tips for shrunken sweaters & knits: 1) For mild shrinkage, try steaming and stretching. But don't leave your knits on a hanger for too long or you'll get bumps on the shoulders 2) For medium shrinkage, try soaking in warm water and fabric conditioner (hair conditioner will work but use the stuff made for animal fibers), squeeze, flat dry, and stretch and reshape on a towel 3) For massive shrinkage, give up. When a knit has shrunk to half its size it's 'felted' and cannot be corrected. This is because fibers like wool, have barbs / scales / hooks on them which latch on when wet, and never release when dry. I hope this helps!
