Dyeing with foraged eucalyptus I gathered a bunch of eucalyptus leaves and bark for this dye project. Today I am using just the leaves and stems. These are not dried leaves so the color I am guessing is different than if the leaves were old or dry. I boiled the leaves for 30 minutes and then let them simmer 30 more minutes. I then strained the liquid and removed the leaves. After the leaves were out of the dye bath I then added the pre-mordanted fabric (mordanted with alum). I let the fabric simmer in the bath for 30 minutes. I gave it a good rinse and hung it up to dry. The color is a gorgeous muted mustard yellow color! So stunning. This will be a staple in my dyeing experiments. #naturaldye #foraging #slowliving #intentionalliving #momlife #eucalyptus
