Re-visiting the basic steps to mending most clothing! You have to know the rules to be able to break them. 1. Clean up mend area- snip away loose threads that may get caught in embroidery. 2. Cut patch fabric to size- there are many ways to do this. Most basic: 1/2”-1” larger then area you’re sewing over. More advanced: address raw edge of patch with several methods ( overlock machine, hand sewing, stitch fix, fray away, folding hem under/over and sewing it down). 3. Sew patch in place. 4. Tack down any tears or holes with small stitches 5. Tie a knot and cut away thread. If needed, cut away patch fabric not caught in embroidery. Wear with pride! I hope this helps.
