Faux Leather Sucks, Here’s Why

Faux leather garments get me riled up!!! These pants are a great example as to why. Simply put, when the top coat of plastic begins to fall apart, the garment becomes useless. That's because the top coat is often plastic, polyurethane, and has quite a short shelf life (3-5 years tops). If this were real leather, the color could be matched and those areas could be repainted. However now, these trousers are destined for a landfill after a very short life. Yes, there are pros for faux leather and some serious drawbacks of real leather. But when it comes to longevity and care, I vote real leather.
